The way a person speaks caries an enormous amount
of weight in our day to day lives as we navigate from one social setting
to another. For me how I speak and am spoken to affect my attitude throughout
the day. I try to make sure that I am in the appropriate mode and consistently
carry myself in a manner that is as well put together as my outfit for that
day; or in some settings as stylish or eloquently stated.
However affected by my environment my goal is
always to be articulate. This is something I have learned that is just as
useful as any accessory. A well spoken statement that incorporates forethought
and communicates your ideas well leaves a great impression. That being
said I do not feel like the way I speak is affected by my friends. Sure, I don't
speak with my friends in a casual setting as I would with my boss or even
with my family. I tend to change modes or code switch, based on my
environment while still maintaining a level of sophistication. It’s just not in
my personality I have always been known as a walking thesaurus amongst my
friends I would rather be known for my vocabulary then have some special code with my peer group.
Making a shorter post to test.
ReplyDeleteI also understand how someone that has spoken to you can affect your attitude because they could have said something disrespectful or inappropriate that made you mad.
