The have, the have nots, and the do nothing.

Companies that are exploiting the ignorance of the poor and uneducated through the use of deceptive business techniques, binding legal agreements, and terms and conditions that are often never explained. Banks don’t make money off of people that pay back loans on time, in the allotted time period or earlier. The real profit as illustrated in the reading is the least likely to adhere to their agreement; the poor. The exploitation of the poor and the specific crime of forcing them to sign under false pretences or even duress should be outlawed. The facts are that these large corporations plant their franchises in the worst socioeconomic areas and prey upon millions of unknowing victims. The lasting consequences include but are not limited to bankruptcy, black marked credit history, and wage garnishment. Taking advantage of the poor in their time of need and then attaching long term debt to their burden only works to widen the opportunity divide.
I think the government is at fault for not tightening regulations corporations that choose to throw their ethics out the window. The government is also at fault for not providing services that could educate the target demographic that has instead been exploited relentlessly over the past twenty years If understanding American finance, what is credit and how it works, or even how to budget where covered on the American curriculum maybe this cycle would end. There are a number of solutions to this problem if we as a nation stopped ignoring this problem for starters maybe even educating our friends and families against these institutions and their malpractices. No matter how to look at it though you cant really blame the individuals being taken advantage of it would be like blaming the loosing team for a horrible playing field
